چکیده

This Letter shows that interleaved sequences of short pulses in the manner of ‘Delays Alternating with Nutation for Tailored Excitation’ (DANTE) with N = 1,2,3 . . . equidistant pulses per rotor period extending over K rotor periods can be used to excite, invert or refocus a large number of spinning sidebands of spin1/2 nuclei in paramagnetic samples where hyperfine couplings lead to very broad spectra that extend over more than 1 MHz. The breadth of the response is maintained for rf-field amplitudes as low as 30 kHz since it results from cumulative effects of individual pulses with very short durations. 2012 Elsevier B.V. Solid-state proton NMR of paramagnetic metal complexes: DANTE spin echoes for selective excitation in inhomogeneously broadened lines

The paramagnetic complex bis(oxazolinylphenyl)amine–Fe(III)Cl2 is investigated by means of solid-state proton NMR at 18.8 T (800 MHz) using magic-angle spinning at 65 kHz. Spin echoes that are excited and refocused by combs of rotor-synchronized pulses in the manner of ‘Delays Alternating with Nutation for Tailored Excitation’ (DANTE) allow one to characterize different chemical environments th...

Selective and Non-selective Nmr Excitation of Quadrupolar Nuclei in the Solid State

Spectral intensities of quadrupolar nuclei and the radiofrequency (rf) pulse lengths for selective and non-selective excitation of any single-quantum NMR transition in the solid state are calculated. When nuclei of the same element occupy sites which experience different electric field gradients, the spectra are quantitatively reliable only when the length of the rf pulse is much smaller than n...

Analysis of a solid state wave gyroscope with thin shell cylindrical resonator and calculation of its conversion factor

In this work the equations of motion of a Solid State Wave Gyroscope (SWG) with rotary thin cylindrical shell resonator is analyzed using the shell and plates elasticity theory. The gyroscope conversion factor found in this analytical study corresponds with the experimental results obtained and listed in the References. The function of the SWG to measure the angular velocity or the rotating ang...

Coupling Second-Order Excitation-Emission Spectrofluorimetric Data with Standard Addition method to Quantify Carvedilol in Real Samples

Prediction using pure standards is expected to be biased whenever the slope of the calibration is affected by the presence of sample matrix. Moreover, in the presence of unknown spectral interferents, first-order algorithms like partial least squares cannot be used. In this study, a method for determination of carvedilol (CAR) in tablet and urine samples is proposed by excitation-emission fluor...

Fast three-dimensional black-blood MR imaging for carotid artery intra-plaque haemorrhage using DANTE-prepared FLASH (3D-DASH)

Background DANTE (Delays Alternating with Nutation for Tailored Excitation) pulse trains are a rapid series of low flip angle RF pulses interspersed with gradients. We have previously demonstrated that when using DANTE pulse trains as a preparation module prior to imaging readout, the longitudinal magnetization of flowing spins is substantially attenuated, whereas the longitudinal magnetization...
